Nanette Cox, Scholar & Family Coordinator

Nanette joins the HNUSR as coordinator of scholars and families for HNUSR Freedom School programs. She is an educator par excellence having served for almost 20 years as an elementary school teacher in LaBrae Local Schools, Leavittsburg, OH and Randolph School in Huntsville, AL. Nanette has a particular passion for children who have been marginalized and told, both directly and indirectly, that they are learning disabled.  A licensed minister, Nanette believes strongly in the inherent worth of every child and has dedicated her gifts and talents to strengthening and uplifting “the least of these.”

Nanette is responsible for the recruitment, registration and smooth matriculation of all scholars through HNUSR Freedom School programs and engages their parents by developing, scheduling and implementing the Parent Engagement activities.

Nanette holds the Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Ashland University, Ashland, OH, and the Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education & Teaching from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, OH.
